After completing five years of training in General surgery they have also completed an additional year of fellowship training in the specialty of colon and rectal surgery. During this specialized training they have mastered the surgical and medical treatment of colon and rectal cancer, diverticulitis, colitis, rectal prolapsed, hemorrhoids, anal fissures, fistulas, fecal incontinence and other diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. Dr. Khawaja Azimuddin is one of the few board certified Colon & Rectal surgeons practicing in North Houston. "Dr. Azi", as he is known by his patients, is board certified in the field of colon and rectal & general surgery. He has performed thousands of colon & rectal and general surgical operations and offers more than 18 years of surgical experience and training. Dr. Azimuddin received his general surgery training at the New York Medical College and went on to do his fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at the Penn State University and Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He has lectured and published extensively and is an editorial reviewer for the Diseases of Colon & Rectum, the official journal of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the International Journal of Surgery. He is a member of numerous surgical societies including the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He has authored 21 research articles in scientific journals and has delivered numerous lectures in regional, national and international colorectal conferences. Dr. Azimuddin is an active member of the community. He believes in "Service Above Self" and is a member of the Rotary International. He has been named a Paul Harris Fellow and has received the "Distinguished Service Award" (two of the highest awards conferred by Rotary International). |
Junuk Kim, MD

Dr Junuk Kim MD is a Fellowship trained Colon & Rectal surgeon who has recently joined our practice. He is Board Certified in General Surgery. After completing his graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA he attended medical school at the New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY. Dr. Kim completed his General Surgery Residency at Saint Vincent’s Hospital Manhattan, New York. He did his Fellowship in Colon & Rectal surgery at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. He has delivered numerous presentations and has published numerous research papers in peer reviewed journals. He is fluent in English, Korean, Spanish, Japanese. He lives with his wife and son in The Woodlands. |
